Zach LaVine
Zach LaVine drops 35 points with five 3-pointers
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 7:08 PM
Zach LaVine led the Bulls with 35 points (11-of-21 FGs, 8-of-10 FTs), three rebounds and five 3-pointers in a 112-99 win over the Clippers on Monday.
Analysis: This was Chicago's 11th game in the month of January, and LaVine has now scored at least 30 in seven of them. He has been on a year, and in this game, it was enough to help them snap a five-game losing streak. LaVine has been enjoying a bounce back season, especially in the month of January. With Chicago barely hanging on to the final Play-In spot, LaVine's name will certainly be tossed around at the trade deadline, especially if he continues to play this well. They have two more games this week, with Golden State up next on the schedule on Thursday.
Josh Giddey
Josh Giddey tallies 18/10/9 line vs. Clippers
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 7:03 PM
Josh Giddey posted a solid line on Monday with 18 points (7-of-9 FGs), 10 rebounds, nine assists, one steal and two 3-pointers against the Clippers.
Analysis: Entering this game, Giddey had been going through a rough patch. He went scoreless in Portland on Sunday, and he had gone four straight games with less than 10 points. However, with both Ayo Dosunmu (calf) and Coby White (ankle) sidelined, Giddey was able to get back on track. He had his highest-scoring game since December and fell one assist shy of a triple-double. This was one of his best games of the season and was encouraging after his last few games. He'll look to keep it going in Golden State on Thursday.
Lonzo Ball
Lonzo Ball logs 26 minutes as starter Monday
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 7:01 PM
Lonzo Ball got the start on Monday and contributed five points (2-of-9 FGs), four rebounds, three assists, three steals, one block and one 3-pointer against the Clippers.
Analysis: After sitting out the first leg of their back-to-back, Ball was able to slide into the starting lineup for this game with both Ayo Dosunmu (calf) and Coby White (ankle) sidelined. White doesn't have a timeline for his return to the lineup, so Ball may end up seeing more starts in the future, especially if he will continue to have staggering availability during back-to-backs with Dosunmu. He shot poorly in this game, but he has been a top-100 player over the past two weeks. They don't have another back-to-back until February 4th, so Ball should be available for their next handful of games.
Lonzo Ball
CHI starting Ball, Giddey, LaVine, Williams, Vooch
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 4:04 PM
Tomer Azarly
Lonzo Ball, Josh Giddey, Zach LaVine, Patrick Williams, and Nikola Vucevic will start Monday's game against the Clippers.
Analysis: Ball is the lone change to the Bulls' starting lineup as he steps in for the injured Coby White. While he may be limited to 25 minutes, the move into the starting five raises Ball's fantasy ceiling. With Ayo Dosunmu also out, Williams may play a few more minutes than usual.
Coby White
Coby White (ankle) lacks timeline for return
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 3:11 PM
K.C. Johnson
Coby White (right ankle soreness) does not have a timeline for return.
Analysis: White came out of Sunday's loss to Portland with a sore right ankle and has already been ruled out for Monday's game against the Clippers. With Bulls coach Billy Donovan saying he's unsure of a return timeline for his starting guard, White may also miss the final game of Chicago's road trip on Thursday against the Warriors.
Lonzo Ball
Lonzo Ball (quad, knee) available Monday vs. LAC
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 3:06 PM
Tomer Azarly
Lonzo Ball (right quad contusion, left knee injury management) is available for Monday's game against the Clippers.
Analysis: Ball is available after sitting out Sunday's loss to Portland, which was the expected outcome. He'll provide depth off the bench and likely play around 25 minutes. Coby White's absence opens up additional opportunities for Ball, who is worth a look in deep leagues.
Ayo Dosunmu
Ayo Dosunmu (calf) ruled out vs. Clippers Monday
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 3:06 PM
Julia Poe
Ayo Dosunmu (right soleus strain injury management) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Clippers.
Analysis: Dosunmu will sit out the second night of their back-to-back, which will open up minutes off the bench. Lonzo Ball and Dalen Terry should fill the void, with Talen Horton-Tucker potentially taking on a few extra minutes.
Jevon Carter
Jevon Carter (illness) out Monday vs. Clippers
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 10:02 AM
NBA Injury Report
Jevon Carter (illness) is out for Monday's game against the Clippers.
Analysis: Carter will be inactive for a third straight game, and he's been out of the rotation recently when available to play. His continued absence does not impact fantasy basketball.
Coby White
Coby White (ankle) out Monday vs. Clippers
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 9:54 AM
Coby White (ankle soreness) has been ruled out for Monday's Bulls-Lakers game.
Analysis: White recovered from his neck injury only to tweak his ankle against the Trail Blazers. Josh Giddey and Zach LaVine will need to pick up the slack with their backcourt partner out of commission.
Lonzo Ball
Lonzo Ball, Ayo Dosunmu questionable vs. LAC
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 9:46 AM
Lonzo Ball (injury management) and Ayo Dosunmu (injury management) are questionable for Monday's Bulls-Clippers game.
Analysis: Ball has missed two two of the Bulls' previous three games while Dosunmu has played in three straight games after an extended layoff caused by injuries. Both guards could leave Chicago shorthanded, as Coby White has already been ruled out. Josh Giddey and Zach LaVine could be in for some heavy lifting in this matchup.
Zach LaVine
Zach LaVine, Jalen Smith active Monday vs. LAC
Mon, Jan 20, 2025, 9:38 AM
Zach LaVine (knee) and Jalen Smith (knee) are probable for Monday's Bulls-Clippers game.
Analysis: LaVine and Smith are a little banged up but both are on track to play on Monday. LaVine should help power the offense while Smith provides quality backup for Nikola Vucevic.
Nikola Vucevic
Nikola Vucevic has 17/11/7 line in loss to Blazers
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 5:44 PM
Nikola Vucevic had 17 points (6-of-14 FGs), 11 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, one block and one 3-pointer against the Trail Blazers on Sunday.
Analysis: Vucevic followed up his 40-point game Friday with another strong effort. The 34-year-old center recorded a double-double and was just three assists shy of a triple-double. Vooch also added three steals and a block on the defensive end. He just continues to produce at a high level, though we would caution that he's more of a top-50 player than a top-20 player in terms of fantasy value.
Zach LaVine
Zach LaVine has 27 points, 2 threes in loss
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 5:42 PM
Zach LaVine had 27 points (10-of-21 FGs), four rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers against the Trail Blazers on Sunday.
Analysis: LaVine has had at least 25 points in eight of 10 games so far in January. He bounced back with a 27-point effort here after scoring only 19 in his last game. The 29-year-old shooting guard is playing at a high level, though his availability needs to be monitored as he's playing through right patella tendinitis. The Bulls have three games in the upcoming week, starting with the Clippers on Monday.
Zach LaVine
Zach LaVine, Talen Horton-Tucker available Sunday
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 2:35 PM
NBA Injury Report
Zach LaVine (right patella tendinitis) and Talen Horton-Tucker (left knee sprain) are available for Sunday's game against Portland.
Analysis: LaVine and Horton-Tucker are both ready for Sunday's game, but the former's availability is of far greater consequence to fantasy managers. LaVine has been a high-level fantasy player recently and needs to be in all active lineups. As for Horton-Tucker, Lonzo Ball's absence from Sunday's game may guarantee him rotation minutes off the bench. However, that isn't enough to justify his being rostered in most leagues.
Lonzo Ball
Lonzo Ball (knee) expected to play Monday vs. LAC
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 1:35 PM
Chuck Swirsky
Lonzo Ball (right quad contusion, left knee injury) is expected to be available for Monday's game against the Clippers.
Analysis: Ball will not play in Sunday's game against Portland, the first of two games in as many nights for the Bulls. He's expected to be available for Monday's game against the Clippers, providing the Bulls additional backcourt depth off the bench.
Lonzo Ball
Lonzo Ball (quad, knee) out Sunday at Portland
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 10:00 AM
NBA Injury Report
Lonzo Ball (right quad contusion, left knee injury management) is out for Sunday's tilt with the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: The Bulls play again Monday against the Clippers, so it's no surprise that Ball is out for the first leg of the back-to-back set. Jevon Carter (illness) is also out, but he's only logged a handful of minutes per game this season. Chicago's backcourt will rely on Josh Giddey and Ayo Dosunmu alongside Coby White and Zach LaVine.
Talen Horton-Tucker
Talen Horton-Tucker (knee) questionable Sunday
Sat, Jan 18, 2025, 8:55 AM
NBA Injury Report
Talen Horton-Tucker (left knee sprain) is questionable for Sunday's game against Portland.
Analysis: Injured during Wednesday's loss to the Hawks, Horton-Tucker did not play against the Hornets on Friday. While his availability does not impact fantasy basketball, the Bulls have also listed Lonzo Ball (questionable) and Zach LaVine (probable) on the injury report for Sunday's game.
Chris Duarte
Chris Duarte (personal) out Sunday vs. Portland
Sat, Jan 18, 2025, 8:53 AM
NBA Injury Report
Chris Duarte will miss Sunday's game against Portland for personal reasons.
Analysis: Duarte has not been in the Bulls' rotation when available, so his absence will not impact fantasy basketball. Hopefully, he'll be able to rejoin his teammates soon.
Zach LaVine
Zach LaVine (knee) probable Sunday vs. Portland
Sat, Jan 18, 2025, 8:48 AM
NBA Injury Report
Zach LaVine (right patella tendinitis) is probable for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: LaVine has patellar tendinitis, but the good news is that he's probable on the initial injury report. If he can't play against Portland, Ayo Dosunmu could move into the starting lineup. His minutes have increased since returning from a calf injury, most recently playing 28 in Friday's loss to the Hornets.
Lonzo Ball
Lonzo Ball (quad) questionable Sunday vs. Portland
Sat, Jan 18, 2025, 8:32 AM
NBA Injury Report
Lonzo Ball (right quad contusion) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: Ball played 25 minutes off the bench in Friday's loss to the Hornets. With the Bulls playing against the Clippers on Monday, he's likely to sit out one of the following two games due to the quad and injury management for his knee. Starter Josh Giddey only played 26 minutes on Friday, so he's likely to absorb a decent portion of the available minutes if Ball doesn't play in Portland.
