Ayo Dosunmu
Ayo Dosunmu shoots poorly in season finale Friday
Fri, Apr 19, 2024, 4:32 PM
Ayo Dosunmu (right quad contusion) shot 3-of-15 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Friday's loss to the Heat, scoring 10 points with four rebounds, four assists, three steals, two blocks, and two 3-pointers in 41 minutes.
Analysis: Give Donsunmu credit for not allowing the shooting struggles to limit what he did in other areas, as he accumulated four assists, three steals, and two blocked shots. However, a cold night from three (2-of-11) sank Dosunmu's field-goal percentage like a stone. Friday was a disappointing ending for a player who made significant strides after the Bulls lost Zach LaVine and Patrick Williams to season-ending foot injuries. Dosunmu provided 11th-round per-game value in 9-cat formats and 12th-round value in 8-cat. Where he's selected in drafts ahead of next season depends on the availability of LaVine and Williams, with the latter being a restricted free agent.
Alex Caruso
Alex Caruso (foot) plays 33 minutes in defeat
Fri, Apr 19, 2024, 4:27 PM
Alex Caruso (right foot sprain) finished Friday's loss to the Heat with six points (2-of-8 FGs), three rebounds, four assists, one block, and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes.
Analysis: Caruso was a game-time decision for Friday after injuring his foot during the first half of Wednesday's win over the Hawks. While he played starters' minutes, he did not have much impact on either end of the floor. The limited scoring output was unsurprising, but the Bulls struggled to defend Tyler Herro and Jaime Jaquez Jr. with a limited Caruso on the court. The rugged guard finished the season as a 5th-round player in 8- and 9-cat formats, exceeding his Yahoo ADP (140.7) by a significant margin. The only way Caruso is off the board in standard leagues ahead of the 100th pick will be if Zach LaVine (foot), Lonzo Ball (knee), and Patrick Williams (foot) aren't available for the start of next season and pending free agent DeMar DeRozan is not re-signed.
Nikola Vucevic
Nikola Vucevic records 16/14/5/2/1 line vs. Miami
Fri, Apr 19, 2024, 4:09 PM
Nikola Vucevic played 35 minutes in Friday's 112-91 loss to the Heat, amassing 16 points (7-of-17 FGs), 14 rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block, and two 3-pointers.
Analysis: Vucevic finished his 2023-24 season with a double-double, fitting for a player who recorded 45 during the regular season. The veteran center was responsible for a full stat line, but the impact was muted. Vucevic, who had a Yahoo ADP of 47.4, hovered around that number in 8- and 9-cat formats this season, ranking 52nd in the former and 48th in the latter. He's a relatively safe bet for top-50 fantasy value, especially if injuries continue to plague Zach LaVine (foot) and Lonzo Ball (knee).
DeMar DeRozan
DeMar DeRozan leads Bulls with 22 points in finale
Fri, Apr 19, 2024, 3:59 PM
DeMar DeRozan finished Friday's 112-91 loss to the Heat with 22 points (8-of-16 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), three rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block, and three 3-pointers in 41 minutes.
Analysis: DeRozan did what he could to lead the way for the Bulls, but Chicago shooting 38.0% from the field was too much for him to overcome on Friday. Not known for his 3-point shooting ability, Deebo shot 10-of-16 from beyond the arc in Chicago's last four games. The 35-year-old wing will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and while the Bulls have expressed interest in bringing him back, it's fair to wonder if running it back with essentially the same roster is the best idea. Zach LaVine (foot) and Lonzo Ball (knee) are rehabbing injuries, as is Patrick Williams (foot). DeRozan can certainly provide top-50 fantasy value; whether or not he does depends on where he's playing and his role.
Coby White
Coby White goes cold, scores 13 points vs. Miami
Fri, Apr 19, 2024, 3:48 PM
Coby White shot 5-of-16 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Friday's 112-91 loss to the Heat, tallying 13 points, two rebounds, four assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes.
Analysis: What a difference a game makes. Two nights removed from torching the Hawks for 42 points, White ran into more significant resistance in Miami. The Heat made life difficult for the Bulls guard, who had as many turnovers as assists (four). Friday's performance was a disappointing end to the best season of White's NBA career, and he will receive some votes for the Most Improved Player award. Entering the season with a Yahoo ADP of 138.9, he provided 8th-round per-game value in 8- and 9-cat formats. With Lonzo Ball's (knee) status for next season undetermined, Coby will be worth considering as a top-100 pick in standard league drafts.
Andre Drummond
Andre Drummond (ankle) active Friday vs. Heat
Fri, Apr 19, 2024, 12:04 PM
NBA injury report
Andre Drummond (left ankle sprain) is listed as active for the Bulls' Friday game against the Heat.
Analysis: Drummond wasn't available for his team's first play-in game but has a chance to contribute ahead of the weekend. The Bulls center will back up Nikola Vucevic.
Ayo Dosunmu
Ayo Dosunmu (quad) active Friday vs. Heat
Fri, Apr 19, 2024, 11:48 AM
NBA injury report
Ayo Dosunmu (right quad contusion) is listed as active for the Bulls' Friday matchup with the Heat.
Analysis: Dosunmu has been upgraded from questionable to active after logging 41 minutes against the Hawks. That figure could drop depending on Alex Caruso's health, though.
Alex Caruso
Alex Caruso (foot) active Friday vs. Heat
Fri, Apr 19, 2024, 11:40 AM
NBA injury report
Alex Caruso (right foot sprain) is active for the Bulls' Friday matchup with the Heat.
Analysis: Caruso is good to go after logging just 17 minutes in Chicago's play-in game against the Hawks. The Bulls guard will likely remain in his team's three-guard starting lineup alongside Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White.
Alex Caruso
Alex Caruso (ankle) expects to play vs. Miami
Fri, Apr 19, 2024, 6:14 AM
Jamal Collier on X
Alex Caruso (left ankle sprain) said that he expects to play against the Heat in their Play-In matchup on Friday.
Analysis: Caruso was limited to 17 minutes against the Hawks on Wednesday, and early reports indicated that his status against the Heat was “in doubt”. However, Chicago should have their best defender available as they try to win in Miami to move on to take on the Celtics. The Heat won't have Jimmy Butler or Terry Rozier, so Caruso will be tasked with limiting Tyler Herro.
Ayo Dosunmu
Ayo Dosunmu, Andre Drummond questionable vs. Heat

Anthony Chiang on X
Ayo Dosunmu (right quad contusion) and Andre Drummond (left ankle sprain) are questionable for Friday's game against Miami.
Analysis: Both players were questionable ahead of Wednesday's matchup with Atlanta after sitting out the final game of the regular season (or in Drummond's case final three games), but they were both available to play. Though they are questionable again, there shouldn't be much fear that they will sit out. Alex Caruso is officially questionable, and he is the only player that may end up missing Friday's game.
Alex Caruso
Woj: Alex Caruso has ‘significant' foot sprain
Wed, Apr 17, 2024, 6:23 PM
Adrian Wojnarowski on X
Alex Caruso suffered a “significant” right foot sprain during Wednesday's Play-In matchup with the Hawks, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Analysis: Caruso briefly exited from Wednesday's game before returning to play more. He ended up exiting early and only played 17 total minutes in the win. Wojnarowski also added that White's status is “in doubt”, so if he can't suit up against the Heat on Friday, Javonte Green will likely start in his place. He logged 22 minutes against Atlanta and finished with 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Coby White
Coby White drops 42 points in win over Hawks
Wed, Apr 17, 2024, 6:21 PM
Coby White led Chicago with 42 points (15-of-21 FGs, 9-of-10 FTs), nine rebounds, six assists, two steals and three triples in a 131-116 win over Atlanta on Wednesday.
Analysis: White may not win the league's Most Improved Player award, but after a breakout season, he went nuclear in their first game of the postseason. The Play-In Tournament doesn't technically count towards a player's stats, but this would have been a career-high for points for White, and he did it with ridiculous efficiency. It has been an incredible year for White, but they'll need one more big game out of him to make it to the playoffs. They'll travel to play the Heat with a chance to take on the Celtics in the first round on the line.
DeMar DeRozan
DeMar DeRozan pours in 22/6/9/1/1 line vs. Atlanta
Wed, Apr 17, 2024, 6:18 PM
DeMar DeRozan posted a full line on Wednesday with 22 points (10-of-19 FGs), six rebounds, nine assists, one steal, one block and one triple against the Hawks.
Analysis: DeRozan wasn't the star of the show, but he was able to have an effective night statistically across the board. The Hawks really didn't have any answers for Chicago's offense, and DeRozan was no exception. He logged 44 minutes in this game, and he will likely take on a large role once again when they head to Miami to play on Friday. Alex Caruso suffered a foot sprain in this game, and he isn't expected to play against the Heat, which just means that DeRozan will have to step up even more if they want to make it to the playoffs.
Nikola Vucevic
Nikola Vucevic turns in 24/12 double-double
Wed, Apr 17, 2024, 6:15 PM
Nikola Vucevic recorded a double-double on Wednesday with 24 points (11-of-21 FGs), 12 rebounds, two assists and one triple against the Hawks.
Analysis: Vooch closed out the regular season with three straight 20-point games, and he was able to keep that up to open up the postseason. He only scored five points when they played Atlanta earlier this month, but he was far more effective in this one. With the win, they'll head to Miami to face a Heat team that may be without Jimmy Butler after he suffered a knee injury on Wednesday. They haven't played Miami since December, but Vucevic scored less than 20 in three of their four matchups this year. If they're able to walk away with another win, they'll take on Boston in the first round.
Andre Drummond
Andre Drummond (ankle) available vs. Atlanta
Wed, Apr 17, 2024, 3:16 PM
Lauren Williams on X
Andre Drummond (left ankle sprain) has been cleared to play against the Hawks on Wednesday.
Analysis: Drummond was initially listed as questionable after missing the final three games of the season. He grabbed 18 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench the last time they played Atlanta, and he should dominate the glass once again as a reserve in this game.
Ayo Dosunmu
Ayo Dosunmu (quad) cleared to play vs. Atlanta
Wed, Apr 17, 2024, 1:48 PM
K.C. Johnson on X
Ayo Dosunmu (right quad contusion) will play against the Hawks on Wednesday.
Analysis: Dosunmu missed the regular season finale, but he will be available to play in their Play-In matchup with Atlanta. Javonte Green started in his place in their last game, so he will likely return to the bench for this one. Dosunmu may continue to be listed on the injury report, but he should be available to play as long as they're still in the postseason.
Ayo Dosunmu
Ayo Dosunmu, Andre Drummond questionable Wednesday
Tue, Apr 16, 2024, 12:30 PM
NBA Injury Report
Ayo Dosunmu (right quad contusion) and Andre Drummond (left ankle sprain) are questionable for Wednesday's game against the Hawks.
Analysis: Dosunmu and Drummond were not available to end the regular season, with the former missing Chicago's final four games and the latter the final three. Dosunmu's absence has impacted the Bulls' rotation more, as Javonte Green has replaced him in the starting lineup. If Dosunmu is available for Wednesday's game, Green will likely return to the bench. As for Drummond, his return would mean fewer minutes for Dalen Terry, who played 24 off the bench in Sunday's loss to the Knicks.
Coby White
Coby White scores efficient 26 points vs. Knicks
Sun, Apr 14, 2024, 11:05 AM
Coby White posted a line of 26 points (12-of-18 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 43 minutes in Sunday's overtime loss to the Knicks.
Analysis: The lone negative for White on Sunday was the 3-point shooting, as he missed all three of his attempts. However, that didn't keep him from scoring 26 points, as the Knicks struggled to keep the jet-quick guard from getting to his spots off the dribble. White heads into the Play-In tournament having scored 20 or more in three of his last four games. Alex Caruso didn't struggle from beyond the arc, as he was 3-of-5 and finished with 15 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and five steals in 41 minutes. Chicago hosts Atlanta on Wednesday in the East's 9/10 matchup.
Nikola Vucevic
Nikola Vucevic produces 29 points, 11 rebounds
Sun, Apr 14, 2024, 10:59 AM
Nikola Vucevic shot 12-of-19 from the field and 3-of-3 from the foul line in Sunday's 120-119 overtime loss to the Knicks, amassing 29 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and two 3-pointers in 42 minutes.
Analysis: Despite having nothing to play for, the Bulls played their usual rotation on Sunday, with all five starters playing at least 38 minutes. Vucevic logged 42 and finished with his second straight double-double. He's scored at least 26 points in three straight games, building solid offensive momentum heading into Chicago's Play-In tournament matchup with Atlanta. Javonte Green, who has filled in admirably for Ayo Dosunmu, contributed 11 points, eight rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes.
DeMar DeRozan
DeMar DeRozan leads Bulls with 30 points Sunday
Sun, Apr 14, 2024, 10:40 AM
DeMar DeRozan played 44 minutes in Sunday's 120-119 overtime loss to the Knicks, accounting for 30 points (11-of-24 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), five rebounds, five assists, four steals, one block, and two 3-pointers.
Analysis: DeRozan had an opportunity to give Chicago the lead in the final seconds of overtime, but his mid-range jumper fell short. He ends the regular season scoring 30 points or more in four straight and five of his last six games, so it's safe to say DeRozan is in good form heading into the Play-In tournament. That stretch began with a 31-point effort against the Hawks on April 1, but Atlanta won that game by 12. The two teams meet again on Wednesday in Chicago, with the winner visiting the loser of the 7/8 matchup between Philadelphia and Miami.
